The Zoology Department SBKWU, Quetta was established in 2004. The Department is providing teaching and research in various Zoology disciplines such as Entomology, Physiology, Ecology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Developmental biology, Animal Behavior, Parasitology, Human Genetics, wildlife, and Fisheries. It is one of the most crowded and productive department of SBKWU, Quetta in terms of number of students, published research papers, articles, and books. The Department has proved its existence by curricular and co-curricular activities; therefore, the Zoology Department is among the best and leading Departments of SBKWU, Quetta.
The department of Zoology has a pivotal role in the faculty of Life Science with its BS and M.Sc. programs and facilities for post-graduate research leading to M.Phil. and PhD degrees. More than two hundred (200) research papers have been published by the faculty members in National and International research journals. About 500 students are enrolled each year at various levels in the department including various specializations. Several are being enrolled each year in M.Phil and Ph.D programs. The Department is well-equipped with labs that facilitate students of all levels especially the MPhil and PhD in research and learning activities.
