Introduction
In accordance with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad's strategy to prioritise research as a key component of future knowledge economies, the office of research, innovation and commercialization (ORIC) was established at Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University (SBKWU). ORIC will certainly set the pace to meet the challenges in the area of research and innovation. It offers comprehensive services for all issues involving research and development, creativity, inventions, commercialization, patents, partnerships, and for arranging seminars, symposiums, conferences, workshops, etc.

Vision

SBKWU office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) has a vision to innovate through knowledge exchange with industry and business. It enables SBKWU role in the socioeconomic development of Pakistan and in particular of the province of Balochistan.

Mission

ORIC has the mission to transform SBKWU to center of innovation through applied research and entrepreneurship.

Goals of ORIC

• Encourage a dynamic, creative, and entrepreneurial environment for high-caliber study with the goal of expanding knowledge.
• Boost Triple-Helix+ connections to create cooperative projects that are good for society
• To support incentives for research, development, innovation, and commercialization, establish solid and longlasting relationships with organisations that make policies and finance scientific research.
• Creating strategic study policies and directions
• promoting innovation and business
• Transfer of technology and marketing
• Protecting university’s intellectual property
• Supporting progress on the SDGs

• Fund raising for research
• Providing information about reserach grants
• Link faculty with the relevant industries
• Help and guide on patent filing and licensing to interface between faculty and firm
• Evaluate market for commercialization and inventions
• Sign MOU’s on collaboration
• Help faculty start companies
